Slalom for the NES

A satirical look at the disconnect between NES box art and actual gameplay graphics.

NES Slalom was a skiing video game developed by Rare (of Donkey Kong Country and Goldeneye fame) and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was released in 1987 and was one of the first games Rare developed for the NES after the company began working closely with Nintendo.

In keeping with the god awful nature of terrible sports-theme game cover art - I’ve gone ahead and revised the Slalom NES box art to be consistent with the actual in-game graphics.

Unclear whether this would have resulted in more or less sales.

You’re probably thinking to yourself that I’m exaggerating. I’ll let you be the judge.

Honestly, how? How did this get past the censors (particularly for North America) over at Nintendo? That right there is all the motivation the other participants in the race need to get ahead of this guy as quickly as they possibly can.
